CHRISTIAN BIBLICAL CANON IS A SET OF BOOKS THAT ARE DIVINELY INSPIRED AND CONSTITUTE AN AUTHORISED CHRISTIAN BIBLE. SUCH BIBLES ARE DIVIDED INTO THE “OLD TESTAMENT” AND “NEW TESTAMENT”.
THE OLD TESTAMENT (OT) IS THE FIRST PART OF CHRISTIAN BIBLICAL CANON WHICH IS BASED UPON 24 BOOKS OF THE HEBREW BIBLE (TANAKH), A COLLECTION OF ANCIENT RELIGIOUS HEBREW WRITINGS BY ISRAELITES BELIEVED BY MOST CHRISTIANS AND RELIGIOUS JEWS TO BE THE SACRED WORD OF GOD. IT IS THE SACRED SCRIPTURE OF JEWISH FAITH WRITTEN IN MANY PARTS DURING 1200 AND 165 B.C. TORAH IS THE FIRST PART OF JEWISH BIBLE. IT CONSISTS OF FIVE PARTS NAMELY GENESIS, EXODUS, LEVITICUS, NUMBERS, DEUTERONOMY. THE PROPHETS IS THE LARGEST SECTION OF HEBREW BIBLE CONSISTING OF FORMER BIBLE AND LATTER BIBLE.
THE SECOND PART OF CHRISTIAN BIBLES IS THE NEW TESTAMENT, WRITTEN IN THE KOINE GREEK LANGUAGE. IT WAS WRITTEN BY CHRISTIANS IN FIRST CENTURY A.D. THE NEW TESTAMENT HAS 27 BOOKS WRITTEN BETWEEN ABOUT 50 AND 100 A.D. IT HAS TWO SECTIONS , THE GOSPELS ( WHICH TELLS THE STORY , LIFE AND TEACHINGS OF JESUS) AND THE LETTERS OR EPISTLES (WRITTEN BY DIFFERENT CHRISTIAN RELIGIOUS LEADERS )The New Testament concludes with the book of REVELATION, which begins with a series of letters to seven churches.KING JAMES VERSION OF THE BIBLE WRITTEN IN 1611 A.D. HAD A PROFOUND EFFECT ON THE WHOLE COMMUNITY.
